This is a snow and ice free outdoor staircase placed in Rotterdam
The client (Rotterdam’s public transportation provider) RET, asked
us to develop a maintenance free staircase.
That would not freeze up and would not have to be treated
with ‘road salt’ causing damage to the concrete.
